Biography

John D. C. Masters was born in Europe to American parents in the mid-1960s. He travels, takes pictures and writes about his experiences. He uses many cameras, both film and digital, 35mm and medium format. He enjoys peasant food, good coffee and conversation. While he likes to travel with people, he travels solo a fair amount as well. He feels that any art is a set of skills, a craft to be practiced daily and if one does not have the foundations, then one cannot make educated decisions. He avoids trends and fads in the art world the best that he can, feeling that these are a product of post-modern consumerism.  He currently lives on an old farm in upstate New York.
